GALTEL is an engineering company specialized in the application of wireless technologies for the agricultural sector.<\/p>\n

It was founded in December 2007 by Jorge del Valle. In its origins, it focused its activity on technology and telecommunications consultancy, oriented to the deployment of cellular networks (mobile telephony, WiMAX, LTE), although it has diversified its business areas to the current service offer.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of 2008, GALTEL had the participation of the founding partner. In mid-2008, 2 people joined as full-time collaborators for the consulting area. In 2009, 2 more people joined, also as collaborators, with which the consulting area currently has 4 full-time collaborators.<\/p>\n

Jorge del Valle, the current Manager of the company, is currently dedicated exclusively to the development of the new division, GALTEL AGRO, in which we intend to promote and extend the use of wireless sensor networks in agriculture in general, and in viticulture in particular. This technology makes it possible to deploy dense measurement networks to know in detail what is happening in the soil, in the plants and in the climate, so that the farmer has the necessary information to make decisions regarding irrigation, fertilization, application of pesticides and crop treatment. These techniques make it easier to apply what is called precision agriculture, which brings both economic and environmental benefits to producers, since it improves the quality of the final product, optimizes the use of resources (water, pesticides, etc.), it reduces environmental pollution derived from the indiscriminate use of fertilizers, and helps prevent crop diseases and pests through preventive warning techniques based on mathematical models that make use of the parameters measured in the field.<\/p>\n

To this end, GALTEL has closed agreements with important technology manufacturers, with the aim of offering the best solutions to the wine sector. From a commercial point of view, GALTEL has closed agreements with companies in the wine sector, to include its technological offer in the product portfolio of these companies and to be able to reach a greater number of potential customers.<\/p>\n

GALTEL is also committed to R+D+i. The result of this is our participation, as a technological partner, in a European consortium for the development of a viticulture project, in which GALTEL will be the technological provider and integrator of the systems that will be developed and tested in vineyards in Spain, Italy and Portugal. , with the participation of universities from the three mentioned countries, as well as companies from Italy and France.<\/p>\n
