Madrid Emprende at Greenweekend Madrid

Summary

Madrid Emprende also collaborates by offering the three finalists a stay of 6 renewable months in Smart Lab, one of the spaces that Madrid Emprende makes available to entrepreneurs dedicated to ICT and smart city projects.
During three days, participants with different ideas have presented, worked on and validated their environmental projects before industry experts during an intense weekend of work, inspiration and motivation.

The winning project was Sponsor an olive tree, of the entrepreneur Adrian Martin. It is a model for the recovery of rural areas that has already begun to function in the municipality of Oliete, province of Teruel. An online platform based on the sponsorship of centenary olive trees under a crowdfunding system. Each sponsored olive tree will have an annual fee of 50 euros and the sponsor will receive 2 liters of oil as a reward. The rest that the tree produces annually will be marketed reinvesting in the association to speed up the recovery work. The project includes the construction of the first solidarity oil mill that will allow the olives to be processed.

Second place was ranked Envirodron, from Borja Teran. A technological startup project that will use drones to collect and compile data and cartographic images in high resolution that may be useful to different clients such as engineering companies that carry out environmental work, insurers or agricultural associations, in projects such as reforestation or dam maintenance.
The project Zero Packaging, from Mario Bamba, came in third place. A supermarket project for the bulk sale of regional and ecological products. There will be no plastics and the containers used will be reusable, generating a circular economy, paying a fee that will be returned when the container is returned to the store. They will bet on zero waste and the surplus product will be donated to a food bank. Cooking, food handling and food awareness workshops will also be offered inside the store.
