Madrid Capital de Moda-MCDM, a project that is committed to making Madrid an international benchmark for fashion and shopping tourism

Summary

The MCDM brand will bring together all the projects, events and activities in the fashion sector that take place in our city and that have the support of the Madrid City Council.
The event was attended, together with the Delegate of the Government Area for Equity, Social Rights and Employment, Marta Higueras Garrobo, and the General Director of Commerce and Entrepreneurship, Concepción Díaz de Villegas-Solans, representatives of the public and private entities that collaborate in the project, such as CIPE Costume Museum, the Count Duke Cultural CenterIFEMA, the Business Association of Textile Trade and Accessories (ACOTEX), the Association of Fashion Creators of Spain (ACME), the Association of Clothing and Fashion Companies of the Community of Madrid (ASECOM), the Association of Merchants Zone Jorge Juan and the catwalk MF SHOW.
In the words of Marta Higueras, the openness to the world of fashion and lifestyles makes Madrid an attractive city, not only for international brands in the sector to present their projects and latest trends, but also for visitors and the shopping tourism.
For its part, the portal www.madridcapitaldemoda.com, is configured as an informative guide that will collect all the events and activities related to the world of fashion and lifestyles that are held under the MCDM brand, such as events to promote the neighborhood of salesas, or from the Jorge Juan area (Mercado de las Flores or the Night of Saint George John) or the presentations of the Cycle \»Dialogues for the future of fashion\» which are held at the Palacio de Cibeles. The next presentation \»Made in Madrid\» will take place in September.
Along with this, the Conde Duque cultural center has joined the MCDM project and will host the exhibition \”Costume for Shakespeare and Cerventes\” between September 13 and 27.
The project has also been joined by bridal fashion catwalks such as Atelier Couture and Catwalk Sewing, as well as HomeDecor.
The textile and fashion sector in the capital constitutes an economic engine and generator of employment. In our city there are more than 9,000 retail outlets, approximately 700 wholesalers and more than 600 manufacturing outlets dedicated to the textile, footwear, accessories and furniture sectors.
