The VI edition of the award arrives Madrid Impacts 2022 to promote the consolidation of social enterprises and the development of new impact entrepreneurship projects.

The Madrid Impacta award is one of the Madrid City Council's lines of recognition for social entrepreneurship and is focused on the following purposes:

  • Support business projects promoted by entrepreneurs, recently created companies or already consolidated companies whose main activity is aimed at providing measurable solutions to situations of social, economic, environmental or similar vulnerability, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Agenda United 2030.
  • To announce impact entrepreneurship and its importance in finding solutions to social and/or environmental problems not solved by traditional companies.
  • Intermediate in the connection between said companies and social impact investors.
  • To stimulate social impact investment in the city of Madrid.

For the implementation and development of this call, the Madrid City Council has the collaboration from Impact Hub Madrid and NTT Data Foundation.

Endowment of the Madrid Impacta award

The Madrid Impacta 2022 award It is national in scope, with a total financial endowment of €50,000, in addition to other contributions in kind.

The following prizes will be awarded by the Madrid City Council:

  • A first prize forEntrepreneur or social entrepreneur of the year 2022”, financially endowed with 12,000 euros.
  • two second prizes at two o'clock finalist companies, financially endowed with 6,000 euros for each.
  • Thirteen second prizes, financially endowed with 2,000 euros each of them, in the following categories:
    1. Social entrepreneur in the young category, where the youth of the entrepreneur will be valued.
    2. Best project”silver”, aimed at the well-being of the elderly.
    3. Best Madrid social entrepreneurship project.
    4. Best social entrepreneurship project in the technological field.
    5. Best social entrepreneurship project in the field of innovation.
    6. Social entrepreneurship project with greater international projection.
    7. Social entrepreneurship project with the best elevator pitch.
    8. Best social entrepreneurship project among the applications submitted by companies housed in the network of incubators of the Madrid City Council.
    9. Best social entrepreneurship project in the field of well-being and health.
    10. Best social entrepreneurship project in the field of education.
    11. Best social entrepreneurship project in the field of clean energy.
    12. Social entrepreneurship project with greater impact in cities.
    13. Best social entrepreneurship project in the field of environmental impact.

 

Main prizes and second prizes they are compatible and, in the event that there is no candidate company to opt for any of the categories provided for the second prizes, the jury may choose to name a second winner in any of the remaining categories or leave it deserted.

Prize sponsors commit to the following prize endowment:

By Impact Hub Madrid:

  • Six months free of membership Flex (flexible positions to work for hours or days with a laptop) at Impact Hub Prosperidad for two people from the three finalist companies.
  • Six months free of membership Connect Digital (connection to a global community with which you can interact both in Madrid and in more than 100 cities around the world) for each of the 13 winning companies of the second prizes.

By NTT Data Foundation:

  • Specialized mentoring for social entrepreneurship projects with a technological component, valued at 8,000 euros, for the company that won the second prize for the most technological social project.

Participation Requirements 

They can participate in this call the Business that meet the following requirements:

  • Being an SME
  • Not be owned in more than one 25% by another company.
  • Have one of the following legal forms:
    1. Natural person: individual or self-employed entrepreneur, limited liability entrepreneur, community property and civil partnerships.
    2. Legal entities: public limited company, limited company, new company limited company, labor limited company, cooperatives and associations that carry out an economic activity on a regular basis.
  • Have started their business activity as of January 1, 2017.
  • Have invoiced during 2022.
  • Dispose of:
    • An original, creative, disruptive and innovative social entrepreneurship project, with or without a technological base, aimed at responding to complex situations such as the current economic crisis.
    • An entrepreneurial project with a positive impact that, therefore, not only generates an economic benefit for the business but also for society as a whole.
    • A project with measurable social impact characterized by developing new products or services, identifying new customer segments, alleviating shortage problems in any sector (health, food, housing, etc.), implementing the automation and digitization of traditional sectors, training in digital and technological skills, etc.
  • Provide a prototype of a product or service tested in the market with already measured or measurable results
  • Have a methodology aimed at measuring the social impact and the degree of mitigation or resolution of the problem or need that is intended to be resolved

Presentation of applications

Applications must be submitted electronically or in person, together with the required documentation, at the Madrid City Council Registry.

The legal persons must submit the application mandatory electronically, accessing the Electronic Office of the City Council: Application for participation in the Madrid Impacta 2022 award. In this case, you must use one of the electronic certificates accepted by the Madrid City Council.

The Physical persons may choose to apply electronically, in the terms indicated in the previous section, or in person in the registry offices of the Madrid City Council.

To the request for participation must be attached two separate documents according to the following specifications indicated in the bases:

  1. Impact project.
  2. Professional CV of the promoters of the project.

Submission Deadline

The deadline for submitting applications begins on July 13 and will end on September 15, 2022 at 11:59 p.m.
