The Ship Madrid, space for urban innovation, is the setting for another year of the South Summit, the most important event on innovation and business in southern Europe, organized by IE University in collaboration with the Madrid City Council, which is held from October 5 to 7 in face-to-face and digital formats.
This year it is presented under the slogan Shape the future, including sustainability among its fundamental pillars, accompanying the commitment to green transformation and the reduction of net carbon emissions to zero.
It has the presence of the 100 best startups in the global and national ecosystem, chosen from the more than 3,800 projects submitted to the Startup Competition of this edition.
HM King Felipe VI inaugurated the event, which was also attended by the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, the Mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez Almeida and María Benjumea, founder and CEO of South Summit, among other personalities from around the world of politics and business.
“We have to highlight the mentality open to change that characterizes our society and that is articulated through a vast network of professional training centers, technology parks, incubators and accelerators”, highlighted His Majesty the King in his address.
In addition, at the opening ceremony, the founder of Zipcar, Robin Chase, spoke, and the round table "Spain's Game Changers" was held, coordinated by the journalist from Televisión Española, Sergio Martín, where Carlota Pi, co-founder of HolaLuz, Esteban Granero, former soccer player and CEO at Olocip, Ana Maiques, CEO at Neuroelectrics, and Cristóbal Viedma, founder and CEO of LingoKids, shared their experiences and purposes.
Many entrepreneurs are going to the Madrid Emprende stand to find out about our services. We are reporting on the services that entrepreneurs can find in our network of incubators, where they can exhibit their projects, get clients, attract investors, network and get advice to implement their business plan.
Jesús Piñero Noguera, founder of Active Tech, a company housed in the Puente de Vallecas nursery, presented its artificial intelligence proposals, highlighting that the South Summit is "a very good opportunity to make yourself known in the ecosystem of entrepreneurs, create opportunities and expand your network of contacts".
In addition, visitors to our stand were able to learn about the experience of the company Retree & Space Solution SL, also housed in the Puente de Vallecas nursery, and its commitment to sustainability and the future of the planet through reforestation.
For his part, Nando Abril, from Made Company, a company housed in the Carabanchel nursery, told us how it helps startups to go to the next level, and highlighting the trust that must be placed in good people: "we turn good people into good businesses", is their motto.
