They may participate Business that meet the following requirements:

• shall be SME, according to the definition established in the European Commission Recommendation of May 6, 2003.
• Not be involved in more than one 25% by another company. If it is owned in a lower percentage, the participant must also be an SME.
• Be constituted in one of the following legal forms:
  • Physical person: individual or self-employed businesswoman, limited liability entrepreneur, property communities and civil societies.
  • Legal person: public limited company, limited company, new company limited company, labor limited company, cooperatives and associations that carry out an economic activity on a regular basis.
• be involved in more than 50% by women. More than 50% of the company's shares or participations must be held by women.
• To have started its business activity from January 1, 2018. Applications from companies created prior to this date will be accepted, provided that they submit a new line of business to the award and it is duly accredited that it has started between January 1, 2018 and the last day of the period established for submitting applications.
• Be billing in January 2023.
• Have a business project that is original, creative, disruptive and innovative, with or without a technological base, aimed at meeting needs in different areas: environment, health and well-being, gastronomy, education, commerce, fashion, finance, electronic commerce, tourism, industry, infrastructure, logistics, energy or similar.
• have a service or prototype of product tested in the market with already measured or measurable results.

The legal persons must submit the application compulsorily:

• electronically, accessing the Electronic Office of the Madrid City Council sede.madrid.es. In this case, you must use one of the electronic certificates accepted by the Madrid City Council.

The Physical persons may choose to apply:

• electronically, accessing the Electronic Office of the Madrid City Council sede.madrid.es. In this case, you must use one of the electronic certificates accepted by the Madrid City Council.
• in person in the registration assistance offices of the Madrid City Council, as well as in the registries of other Public Administrations. They may also be sent through the other forms provided in article 16.4 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on the Common Administrative Procedure of Public Administrations, as long as their profession does not require registration; if it requires compulsory registration, they must submit it electronically, as long as said activity is related to the exercise of said professional activity.

In the case of choosing to present the application and corresponding documentation in any of the entities provided for in the aforementioned precept, they must send, within the application submission period provided for in this call, an email to premioemprendimiento@madrid.es attaching certification from the corresponding entity stating the date and time of presentation. In any case, the application and documentation must be received by the General Directorate of Innovation and Entrepreneurship within a period of 10 calendar days following its presentation.

• Application form of participation available in sede.madrid.es. The application must be duly completed in all its sections and signed by the person concerned who, where appropriate, has sufficient power to do so.

In the event that the request to participate in the call is made through a representative with full capacity to act, such representation must be accredited by any legally valid means that allows a reliable record of its existence, in accordance with the provisions of section 4 of article 5 of Law 39/2015, of October 1, on Procedure Common Administrative of Public Administrations (LPAC). For this purpose, entries made in the electronic registry of powers of attorney of the General State Administration (REA-AGE) will be admissible.

• Executive summary of the business plan. An executive summary of the business plan must be attached to the application, which must adhere to the following characteristics:
  • Written in Spanish and with an extension of between 4 and 5 pages.
  • Collect compulsorily information on the following points:
    1. Sector of activity of the project.
    2. Description of the business activity.
    3. In the case of legal persons, communities of property and civil partnerships, indicate the number of partners, if they are men or women and the participation percentage of each of them (essential to verify compliance with section 5).
    4. Activity start date or a new line of business, as appropriate in each case.
    5. Billing Start Date and annual amount invoiced from said date until the date of publication of the call
    6. reflect the aspects of business activity that state that the evaluation criteria of the candidacies established in section 11 are met.
  • Action plan: will include a schedule and description of activities to be carried out in each of the stages programmed for the execution of the project, indicating, where appropriate, the stage it is in at the time of participation in this call.
  • They may be presented supporting images and graphics, but always without exceeding the limit of 5 pages.
  • You can include the professional profile of promoters, but in no case will personal data be provided.

The submitted applications will be valued with a maximum of 15 points according to the following criteria:

• Originality and creativity of the business project. The differentiating and novel character of the application will be valued. Maximum 3 points.
• Disruptiveness and innovation. Innovation can refer to a new product, a new service, a new organizational model, a new process, a new solution approach, or the like. Maximum 3 points.
• Because they are projects belonging to sectors traditionally reserved for men. Maximum 3 points.
• Technical and economic feasibility. A realistic assessment of its viability in the market will be made. Maximum 3 points.
• possibilities to climb in the short and medium term. Scalability understood as the ability to be developed in areas other than those for which it was initially designed. Maximum 3 points.

The total amount of the prize amounts to €100,000, broken down as follows:

• First prize "Entrepreneur of the year 2023"financially endowed with 20,000 euros.
• Second prize "Entrepreneur of the year 2023"with a financial endowment of 15,000 euros.
• Third prize "Entrepreneur of the year 2023"with a financial endowment of 10,000 euros. 
• will be granted 11 second prizes financially endowed with 5,000 euros each of them, in the following categories:
  • Younger entrepreneur.
  • Madrid entrepreneur.
  • Entrepreneur of the innovation and/or entrepreneurship centers of the General Directorate of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
  • Entrepreneur with the best elevator pitch.
  • Entrepreneur with the project with the greatest potential for growth and international projection.
  • Entrepreneur with the best project in the technological field.
  • Entrepreneur with the best project in the field of the so-called orange economy (cultural and creative industries).
  • Entrepreneur with the best project in the field of health and well-being.
  • Entrepreneur with the best project in the sector Food Tech.
  • Entrepreneur with the best project in the HORECA sector.
  • Entrepreneur with the best project in the STEM sector.

The main prizes and the second prizes are not compatible, so the same company cannot be the winner of the first, second or third prize "Entrepreneur of the Year 2023" and be awarded one or more second prizes.
