market47.com, is an innovative electronic commerce platform aimed at facilitating the digitization of Madrid SMEs and their entry and positioning in electronic commerce with greater strength than if they did it individually. Its name, mercado47, is due to the fact that it is a virtual market, which any Madrid SME can enter, which is added to the 46 physical markets that make up the network of municipal markets in the city.

The General Director of Commerce and Entrepreneurship, Concepcion Diaz de Villegas Solans, has presented the act, remarking that how "Mercado 47 is a space for equal opportunities for small businesses”. This space arises from the recognition that “all the entrepreneurs of the Madrid commercial fabric are essential to create a city“. In this sense, the platform facilitates access to the possibilities offered by electronic commerce in a simple and affordable way, allowing the offer of shops, companies and the self-employed in the capital, regardless of their sector, to be accessible just a click away. for all internet users.

The CEO of Hermeneus World, Eduardo Elorriaga, has explained the project in detail to the attendees, focusing on the most practical and visual part of the platform: “A platform adapted to your reality and not the other way around”, he commented to the businesses present.

In addition, three participants in the project have recounted their experience as part of Mercado47: Óptica Mediterraneo, Meyra and Somolinos as shops, and the general director of Seur, as a logistics company.

The technological development of the platform was carried out from the end of 2015 to the end of February 2016 and it was presented to the municipal markets and to all SMEs in Madrid through CEIM and different business associations, in the month of March. From March to the present, some 100 companies have already joined the initiative, which currently have put 3,000 products and services on sale.
