Celebrated in the Vivero de Moratalaz its annual event "Design applied to commerce"

Summary

On November 30, the Moratalaz business incubator held its annual event in which, under the title “Design applied to commerce, an opportunity to grow the business”, the situation of the shops in the Moratalaz district was reviewed and various design solutions were presented in the shop.

Speakers from different sectors participated in the event: Victor Soto, President of the Moratalaz Merchants Association, Miguel Serrano, expert in internationalization of companies in the fashion sector, asecom, the CEO of the fashion company Nice Corporation, Jose Kalu, and the coordinator and professor of the Master in Design of Commercial Spaces of the Superior School of Design of Madrid, Jose Antonio Oche.

The Director of the Nursery, Mª Isabel Salvador highlighted the need for SMEs to look for tools such as design to have opportunities to grow. And it is that, as Víctor Soto stressed, "fashion in shops must be very present, but it changes continuously, and commercial SMEs must adapt and evolve at the same pace".

In the search for new ways to promote commerce and the product, the presentation of the store is also very important. For this, and to promote the internationalization of SMEs and entrepreneurs in the fashion industry, the tool was presented to the attendees STEP OUT, developed by Miguel Serrano and promoted by the Association of Clothing and Fashion Companies of the Community of Madrid (Asecom). The program allows companies to do self-analysis; company presentation and commercial presentation, while providing updated information on internationalization.

Jose Kalu, CEO at Niza Corporation, highlighted the importance of design in the different sales channels, and how they influence new buyer profiles. It is essential to create sales environments that are based on the result of accurate decision making, based on knowledge of the market, communication, interior design, furniture, construction, strategy and prediction.

According to Jose Antonio Oché Argente, coordinator and professor of the Master in Design of Commercial Spaces at the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Madrid, the important thing is to "think about design from the point of view of the merchant" and he presented several examples and strategies that can help small businesses to differentiate themselves.
