Zero quota 2023 for the self-employed in Madrid

Zero quota 2023 for self-employed

Summary

  • Zero contribution for self-employed people from Madrid in 2023, linked to the flat rate of 80 euros
  • It will initially have a duration of 12 months, extendable to another 12 months only in the case of having net earnings below the SMI

Since January, one of the many novelties that 2023 brought for independent workers has been in force: it is the zero fee for the self-employed, linked to the flat rate of 80 euros.

They will be the new self-employed belonging to the communities of Madrid, Andalucía and Murcia, which will benefit in full with respect to Social Security contributions. These three communities have also been joined by the Balearic Islands, which will only award the benefit to women entrepreneurs and independent workers under 35 years of age.

In this way, the new self-employed belonging to the aforementioned communities will be discounted to 100% of their quota for a period of 24 months. However, it is important to note that said bonus will initially have a duration of 12 months, extendable to another 12 months only in the case of having net earnings below the SMI.

For this reason, it is important that you find out about the particular requirements of your autonomous community if you are going to opt for the zero fee.

What are the requirements to opt for zero quota?

  • Be registered in the state flat rate of 80 euros.
  • Not having been registered as self-employed in the last two years.
  • Not belonging to the regime of self-employed collaborators.
  • Not having outstanding debts with Social Security or with the Treasury.
  • Record on the website of the autonomous community to which you belong the necessary documents to register in the RETA or in the Special System for Self-Employed Agricultural Workers.
  • In the case of the Madrid's community, those self-employed workers who are entitled to the flat rate for termination as a result of the birth or adoption of a minor, may opt for the zero fee only if they re-establish their activity within the two years following the effective date of the termination.

How much do I save by taking advantage of the zero fee?

The economic savings that the zero fee entails turns out to be one of the most attractive aspects for the new self-employed who opt for this aid, since they will be able to enjoy savings of 960 euros per year thanks to this benefit.

For independent workers who can adhere to this benefit during the second year of activity, and have net income below the SMI, the total savings will be around 1,920 euros.

Remember, if you live in one of these autonomous communities and want to take advantage of this benefit, do not forget to find out about the requirements and everything you need to adhere to the zero quota.
